Expected duration: 3 - 4 weeks I’m looking for a skilled CAD designer/modeler to recreate a couple robot parts from the Rover robot featured in the movie Planet 51. You will be reverse engineering it from screenshots from the movie that I will supply.
The 1st couple of files will be a front circle door, Aerial rubber boot, Neck parts.
The main project will be the arm and this will be after you can prove to me you can do movie accurate parts. Will not need to be fully functional/mechanical, priority visual accuracy for the full-scale build and the arm will not be going inside the body behind the door on the robot. The arm will be a Item I can push into the 62mm hole behind the door as a show part.
Project Details: Design front circle door, Aerial rubber boot, Neck parts. After the parts abave are done and you can prove you can do CAD files that look like the movie parts The the next main project will be the Arm. Design the robot arm in CAD using reference images that I will provide. ZIP Folder with all images and CAD file. The model needs to be as movie accurate as possible. I will supply part of the existing CAD assembly that the arm connects to, so the scale, mounting points, and proportions can be matched correctly. Attention to detail is important as this is part of a larger full-scale Rover build project. File Formats
Preferred deliverable formats: STEP SpaceClaim (SCDOC) SolidWorks Other compatible professional CAD formats may also be acceptable.
Requirements: Prop design and modeling. Experience with mechanical/product CAD modeling Ability to work accurately from image references Good communication and willingness to make small adjustments if needed Bonus if you have experience with movie props, robotics, or reverse engineering from photos Future Work.
There may be additional CAD modeling work available later for other parts of the Rover project if the collaboration goes well.
