Description: We need an experienced WordPress developer with deep server-side expertise to urgently fix ongoing performance issues on our site, persiscollection.com. The website uses a custom WordPress theme with many custom functions and is hosted on a Liquid Web dedicated VPS. We recently set up Cloudflare, but there are still unresolved issues that need urgent attention.
Key Issues:
Slow website speed: The site is still slow, even with Cloudflare enabled.
Human verification check: Visitors are being asked to verify they are human due to Cloudflare’s “under attack” mode. This is a temporary solution. This is affecting the user experience.
MySQL/PHP load issues: There are high PHP/MySQL loads and unoptimized custom functions causing strain on the server.
Firewall layers: Multiple firewall layers may be interfering with server performance, and unnecessary processes could be slowing things down.
Category Page Issue: The category page does not load more products when scrolling, and setting the pagination to 100 products has reduced speed massively.
Server ping latency: Ping to server latency is unusually high (300 ms+), affecting load time.
Tasks:
Audit and optimize server performance (PHP-FPM, MySQL queries, server configuration).
Fix MySQL/PHP load issues and identify any custom code conflicts causing high resource usage.
Configure Cloudflare properly to ensure fast loading and remove the human verification checks for normal visitors.
Resolve the category page issue where more products do not load when scrolling.
Check server ping latency and reduce delays to improve speed.
Review firewall layers and other server configurations to identify anything unnecessary that may be slowing down the site.
Requirements:
Strong WordPress experience, particularly with custom themes and custom functions.
VPS server management: experience with Liquid Web VPS, PHP-FPM, MySQL, and server-level debugging.
Cloudflare setup and optimization: must be able to set up Cloudflare properly to ensure fast loading and secure the site without causing issues.
Troubleshooting: ability to identify and fix server performance issues, including database optimizations and PHP code conflicts.
Experience in handling high-traffic WordPress sites and debugging MySQL queries and PHP load issues.
