Description: We're looking for an experienced brand naming expert or strategist to help us develop range of brand names for several FMCG product categories. The brief is focused on creating compelling, ownable brand names that resonate across key European and international markets, with a specific emphasis on German linguistic and cultural fit. We expect most of the names will be written in the english language.
Project Scope: - Develop a strong set of strategically aligned, creative name options - Names must work across: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, United States
Ensure names are: - Easily pronounceable in German - Free from unintended negative associations in German - Not using umlauts or existing brand names - Clear of strong category associations - Provide rationale for shortlisted names (tone, meaning, structure) - Conduct basic soft checks on naming availability (trademark/brand presence)
Who We’re Looking For: - A brand strategist, naming specialist, or senior creative copywriter - Strong portfolio of naming work (especially in FMCG, retail, or international branding) - Fluent in German or able to partner with a native German copywriter/linguist - Experience with international brands and cultural nuance a plus
Deliverables: - 10–15 vetted name options with rationale - Notes on phonetic and cultural suitability for the German market - Basic availability check in key regions
