I seek an experienced podcast editor to provide post-production services for an upcoming 10 episode podcast series focused on entrepreneurship. The raw audio files have been recorded and will need trimming, editing, and mixing to ensure a polished and professional final product. Skills required include expertise with Adobe Audition or comparable audio editing software.
The editor will be tasked with reviewing each full-length recording and segmenting into logical chapters or sections based on topic or theme. Extraneous remarks and dead air between speakers will require precise cutting to keep the pacing brisk. Audio levels may need adjustment across multiple recordings to achieve consistency. Background noise reduction and other cleaning tasks may also be undertaken where necessary.
Once segmented, the chapters will needtransitions, such as fade ins/outs or background music,inserted to provide a smooth listening experience from one topic to the next. Finalizing the mixes to achieve clarity and a well-balanced audio spectrum is essential. Quality control checks will ensure there are no distracting audio issues prior to delivery of the polished final podcast episodes.
The candidate should have at least 2 years experience editing long form audio such as podcasts, audiobooks or interviews. Proficiency with advanced audio tools is important as is strong listening skills and an ear for detail. A communications or media related educational background is preferred.
