I have a number of 3D CAD models that originated in 3D autoCAD and I have translated some to Solid Edge ST9 (which I have a license for).
I want to:
- organise models into assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- rename parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies
- use Solid Edge file manager to organise parts so they can be re-used in new designs
- ensure all parts and assemblies are native Solid Edge.
To commence, I want to work on the R21 which is here https://rorty.net/product/r21-solo/
Following the above organisation, I need to produce flat profiles of each tube in DXF format for use in SheetCAM so they can be cut on my CNC tube cutter. My current process uses Bendtech and SheetCAM for this.
I have a number of design edits and new designs to develop in the next 6-12 months.
Skills required:
- Solid Edge 3D and 2D, including file management and organisation
- Mechanical design and analysis
- Vehicle and part design, redesign, spaceframe tubular chassis
- Production / manufacture analysis
- Production of 2D drawings for DIY kits and manufacture.
