We are seeking to rebuild our existing web application, Atlanta Tech Blogs (https://www.atlantatechblogs.com/). The current version is built using Ruby and Postgres, and it is deployed using a connection from our GitHub repository to our Heroku account.
The original application was developed many years ago, and many aspects of it are outdated. Rather than engage with the original developer on costly patchwork updates, we are opting to create a new version that is easy for us to manage.
Objectives
• Recreate the Atlanta Tech Blogs on a new framework that is easy for us to update and maintain.
• Import posts, feeds, and other relevant data from the existing application.
• Use the atlantatechblogs.com domain name for the rebuilt application.
• Implement our Google Analytics 4 property along with any configuration needed to track user activity on the application.
• Implement appropriate security measures to prevent malicious activity and safeguard our data.
• Ensure that recurring backups of the application and its data are operational.
• Our preference is to use Bootstrap for the front-end; for server-side, we’re fine with just about any framework as long as we can make sense of it and deploy new code on our own as needed.
• To the previous point, create simple documentation so future developers and others can understand how the new application is built and how it can be updated.
