I run a website that sells artwork and am looking to hire somebody to write the text inputs for each product page.
These text inputs would be:
1) Product Titles 2) SEO Product Page URLs/keyword-rich filename base 3) Brief Product Description + Image Alt Text 4) Product Tags 5) Artist/Photographer Name
There is a specific method of doing each of these things for our website, so I would need somebody willing to follow our exact procedures for the website.
Being fluent in the English language is required.
Fast turnaround time is essential on this. The way the workflow will work is: On a given day of the week, I will send you the images for all of the artwork/photographs that will be added to the store for the upcoming week, organized for each day. You will then have a set number of days to prepare all of the text inputs, and then send the back to me in a spreadsheet. If these inputs aren't prepared and fully ready by the due date, the entire operation will grind to a halt.
What this means is, miss a deadline, and you're fired, simple as that. Not trying to scare you or sound like a hard-ass, just want to be clear up front about that. This is a key bottleneck point in the operation that can't afford to have somebody missing deadlines and holding up the entire operations of the business. Please only apply if you are 100% confident that you can consistently meet deadlines 100% of the time.
There's a consistent system followed for each part of the product page that you'll be writing, so it will get very repetitive because everything is standardized. Things are so standardized that I would classify this job about as much "Data Entry" as it is "Content Writing." But! You'll basically get to look at a bunch of cool artwork & photography, then prepare the product page information for those pieces. Not the worst job in the world, that's for sure!
The way our systems currently are, for each product, it's not a lot of writing. About 30-50 words total for each product. Individually, not bad at all, but it adds up doing the work at large volumes. The number of products added to the store per week will start out at 72, but will almost certainly increase from there up to 120 per week, maybe eventually even more.
So calling it an average of 40 words written per product, this will end up being anywhere from 3,000-6,000 written words per week.
I have added a set amount for the sake of getting this posting through, but please let me know what you would charge for this range of work per week.
More information about the specific systems followed for each of the text inputs you'll be writing, and additional tips about how to help speed up your workflow using supplementary information that will be provided for the images, will be provided to you.
Attached to this posting is a spreadsheet basically with a sampling of a completed spreadsheet that contains the product page inputs. As you can see, nothing too crazy or heroic, just a pretty simple, streamlined process for each product. If you want to send over a sample of a couple of product page inputs that you wrote, maybe using a random image off the internet as a template, that wouldn't hurt!
Let me know if you have any additional questions. Looking forward to hearing from you all.
