Hi! I'm on the hunt for an experienced small business coach/consultant to advise me on the growth process of my small content writing business.
Ideally I'm looking for a female with knowledge of the marketing/writing industry and understands the relevance of being a woman in business. I run my little business with a lot of love, and my key USP is an honest, human connection, so I'm really looking for the same relaxed and holistic approach in a coach. If you're a suit and tie, industry jargon type of person then this isn't the job for you. If you're a bit different, prioritise the human aspect, and like working with small-scale entrepreneurs, then please do apply.
About my Business: My freelance content writing business FiskLit www.fisklit.com provides people-centred and valuable social media content/management as well as purposeful and engaging articles to be a key and natural part in the customer connection process, ultimately creating lead generation. I have 5 longterm clients currently, they're in the estate agency, language learning, gaming, clothing e-commerce, and web dev sectors.
I dedicate on average 1-2 days to a client per week to ensure I get their projects completed on time, so I'm currently flat-out 6 days a week as content creation and client management can take quite a bit of time. I usually spend my Sundays working on the business itself - I hired a fantastic marketing consult who's given me a plan for consistent and background lead gen, as well as helping with my branding, so I'm very satisfied with that side of my biz.
For the past 3 months I've been turning away new clients and declining further work from my existing clients because I just don't have the time. I'm working 8-8 most days, which is very far from how I'd like to run my business. Ideally I'd like to either subcontract work out or hire someone to help with the workload, but I'm stuck as the content writers I've connected with aren't able to guarantee short-notice availability and I'd have to become a Ltd company (currently sole trader) to hire, which I'm not sure is the right path currently.
My vision for FiskLit is to have a fantastic content writer to train according to the FIskLit ethos and process, and they'd be able to take on a mix of the social media/article work where needed. I'd like to take more of a managing role in the business and just focus on its growth rather than being the sole service provider. I have another online course business that is starting up, which I'd like to be able to focus on more as time goes by, and allow both businesses to become mainly passive streams of income that only require my overseeing and management.
I hope I've answered some of the basic questions you might want to know but please let me know your thoughts in your proposal. This is likely to be an ongoing relationship as I grow this and my other business. I'm not looking at a big budget, but for the right person I'm open to negotiation.
