We are creating a new website to market to our audience. This is a marketing website to highlight our skills and expertise and will be managed by in-house marketing professionals and not a development team.
We have the core page designs that now need to be built onto a easy to use CMS
Audience
Audience for this website will be for other business that will come to the website to read our content and then reach out to us to see how we can help them.
Product users
This will be used by marketing professionals with limited html knowledge. Therefore it needs to be easily editable whilst maintaining overall design
It will be a content heavy site with new pages being added on a weekly basis. These pages will be largely text and imagery based but occasionally video will be added.
Key features we need All web copy and images need to be easy to edit but retain the formatting depicted in the designs Pages should be made up of key components shown in the designs but allow us to choose if we want to add them to a pages – therefore allowing the page layouts to be multifunctional eg article pages need to allow imager to be added into copy but only if need – please refer to the ‘article page design’ and note the image mid way down the page – this will only be added for longer content – not every page recommended articles promo boxes should be able to be added and removed as a separate module Header imagery should retain the dark layer with our branding but we need to be able to change imagery behind it and edit the copy over it Each page should be easy to share on social media We should be able to integrate available WordPress plugins as we need eg email subscription sign up boxes, CTA buttons need to allow the copy to be editable Analytics tracking to be added – google analytics Sitemap creation – with each new page added to the site map and for us to be able to export an XML sitemap that we can submit to Google for indexing URLs to be search friendly and built from site structure as a new page is added Basic SEO functionality – editable SEO page title and meta descriptions
