Expected duration: 1 - 2 weeks I need either a scaled-down demo or maybe the full blown game developing for iOS and Android. The main aspect of the game will be like many other word games, where a player is given some random letters and they have to find as many valid words in a specific time. However, this game will need to have the capability of players competing with each other online and also needs Facebook and Android gaming connectivity to save progress and badges etc.
It will also need several good quality sound effects sourced or created.
Unlike most other games of this nature, this game will require 3D animation (or possibly 2D depending on costs) for sophisticated graphical representation of progress within the game.
The game will also need lots of high quality artwork/graphics that will to work together for another aspect of the game to show longer term progress. The main screen will have just one flat image for background, buttons and display boxes for game info, a tile for each letter of the alphabet created but there will be 3 x 3d animated graphics to show in game progress with sound effects each time an animation occurs and when any power-up is available, collected or used.
The demo version will only need to function to show one or two combination of letters available in game and the additional graphics outside of the main will be limited to about 5-10 rather than 30-50.
Summary: I want a word game developing that will include the following: • An engine that comes up with 7 or 8 random letters • The letters displayed as tiles (like Scrabble) • The ability to scramble the letters at will • A valid word checking engine against a dictionary • A score counter and a visual (non-numerical) representation of the score by fairly sophisticated 3D Animated graphics ideally (otherwise can work with 2D, just not as much ‘wow’ factor) • There will be a fair amount of other 3D graphics that will need to be created and modified in game depending on achievements, success and progress that will be revealed further in to the development process • High quality sound effects (can be sourced ones) • Ability for player to compete with up two other random players or friends online, or even race against time • In-game powerups • A database that stores the progress of different levels (like Star completion for each level in Candy Crush, but with a lot more detail as to the specific progress on each level – far more than just stars) • Facebook, Apple and Android connectivity for game progress saving and badges etc
The budget stated will be for the demo version of the game (and possibly negotiable within reason), while the full blown game (if done to the level expected) will obviously cost more.
Houry rate could be possible, but the freelancer must be able estimate number of hours required to make the demo and the full game itself.
