I have a folder system with design files in it that are meant for SignCutPro2 and there are older files that are designed for SignCutPro1
The files and software are used for cutting out designs on a cutter plotter that uses a knife.
SignCutPro1 is in .sc extension and signcutpro2 is in .scpro2 extension
.sc files are similar to Adobe Illustrator vector files by code and can open in some programs like Corel Draw and AI bur are missing the size of each file
.scpro 2 on the other hand is a new custom XML format and it's only usable in signcut they've made their files unusable in other progams.
This is where the issue comes in, i'm planning on converting to Laser machines to cut out stencils.
Laser machines have various programs the one i'm interested in is CorelDraw the files need to be AI, dxf, svg files.
I've searched, contacted and reached out to file conversion companies like reconverter pro, foldermill.
But they cannot add the functionality to convert this file type to a usable format for laser machine software.
My idea is to use SignCutPro2 it's self and SignCut's other Software SignCutDraw.
You can open a .sc or .scpro2 file in SignCutPro2 where it can only be save as .scpro2 but it can be sent via a button to SignCutDraw for editing.
From this point you can export the file as a dxf, svg or ai format which is compatible with laser machine programs, the file also keeps it's original size which is important because each design is saved in A6,5,4,3,2,1 so I need basically a complete copy of my designs in a new format.
There is around 4000 .scpro2 and 2000 .sc files hence why i'm looking for a macro which my idea is bellow.
I have JitBit Macro Recorder and can make it work a bit but it allows to run C# code where I cannot do this.
In order this is the task I need.
1) Open SignCutPro2.exe 2) Open SignCutDraw.exe 3) Open Folder /completed (The parent folder of all designs) 4) search for files in .sc format and open in sign cut 5) Send file to SignCutDraw via the but on SigCutPro2 6) Export the file as either an AI, DXF or SVG format and save it in that same location it was found with the same name. (All files are saved as SKU so it's important the name is the same) 7) Move on and repeat the process until all .sc files are converted and saved in a compatible format for CorelDraw or other laser machine software
The same process will happen again but file type will change to .scpro2 and then convert those files instead, i'm assuming it's best to convert one file type then do the other?
I can create most of the macro the part I can't is the search folder, open file in signcut if type = .sc after that its a simple button click macro to send to signcutdraw but then there may be more C# to copy the original file name and save it for example:
SZ123456789-XL.scpro2 Would save as SZ123456789-XL.SVG
