We are about to commence a new multi year maintenance and support contract for infra and data & analytics with one of our existing clients. The maintenance and support services cover infra in the cloud, software, solutions, data feeds into the solutions, user consumable information. The engagement also has a built in migration from old legacy solution to our new solution and penalties in the shape of break out clauses if we are unable to. One the success of migration, client agrees to certain marketing activities for the remainder of the term. The contract will have built in rate card that need a provision to be revised mid-term with a sensible approach. We need a contract which works both ways, has solutions when things go wrong and more importantly has protection for us. We will provide what is being supported, as-is to to-be solution details and supportive information but it will be your job to build a contract around it. We are not looking for a standard contract that has a schedule for us to fill out at the end, I have enough of those already. What we need is a purpose built contract that gives us protection and looks professional with the client.
