I am currently looking to redevelop the Melbourne Specialist International School (MSIS) website. The current website is https://msis.edu.sg and I use Word Press.
MSIS falls under the umbrella of White Lodge Preschools. White Lodge recently had their website redeveloped - https://www.whitelodge.education/en-sg/ .
I redesigned the website of my previous job – http://www.khansaheb.ae - this is a large construction company but I used infographics and clever ways to hide information as there are multiple departments with lots of information that needed to be shared. Between the new White Lodge website and Khansaheb (the link I shared), I like to design something with a similar look and feel for MSIS.
As an educational institution, there is also a lot of information that parents want to see but I think we need to be clever with more infographics, less content and more imagery to convey our message.
I’ve jotted down a basic outline of the website. I am looking to have five main dropdown menus:
· About Us · Our Curriculum · Admissions · Blog · Contact Us
Under each heading:
About Us Who We Are – Director’s Welcome + story Our Team – this will consist of Principal/ Academic Board + Staff Vision & Values CPE Compliance
Our Curriculum Our Programs Therapists & Specialists Facilities Book A Tour – or should that go at the bottom of each of the above – call to action button?
Contact Us Book A Tour + Contact Details + memberships Join Our Team Links to our social media updates
Footer Privacy Policy Terms & Conditions
IN ADDITION, (if you can supply):
Student Management System (examples below) • Pay fees online • Track visitors • Track queries • Send reminders for billing • Complete forms • Show report cards
As we are a niche, special needs school with only 50 students, I am not looking for all the bells and whistles; I just don’t have that sort of budget. We do need our website modernised with less content and more SEO focus.
The website currently uses Word Press. To keep costs down, I would like to stay using Word Press as I’m familiar with the backend. Unless you have some fabulous reasons that I can’t shy away from to use another platform?
To also keep the costs down, maybe we could look at using a template website and manipulate to suit MSIS. I would prefer to stay away from an expensive, customised design.
Let me know what other information, if any, you require to put together a quote?
