VQ is an audio, mobile accessories and homewares brand with a global footprint in; UK, Europe, North America and Australia. As a brand choice (colour, print, material) is hugely important in our product range, so any new site will need to be carefully considered in how it presents the range of choices.
www.MyVQ.com is the brand website and is used for direct to consumer sales in the UK and Europe and as a point of information/reference for other territories around the world. The site is currently based on the Magento platform, which we’re looking to move away from. We have found Magento increasingly unsuitable for our business with difficulties around day-to-day maintenance as well as on-going support and integrations.
We plan to re- platform to Shopify with a focus on a Sale/Conversion first strategy and given our experience want to seek a website which is as lite as possible on custom development and over-engineering.
Overview Objectives:
- Re-platforming from Magento to Shopify, as a solution more suited to our business and as a larger provider with better support, integration and other facilities around it.
- Onward integration to StoreFeeder or Volo for stock management / warehousing and to Sage for accounting / finance requirements.
- Onward integration also required for Custom Gateway (https://www.custom-gateway.com/) to enable print on demand production.
- Ability to effectively manage multi-location stock, be that within the UK or internationally.
- Conversion First Approach – stripping back pretty but pointless design or functionality to drive more business with a focus on; ease of check-out, upsell and customer loyalty.
- Transparency of Costs – initial fees, assets for build and on-going costs of transaction/plugin’s etc.
