Firstly, this budget is just an estimate - it is flexible, depending on what work you discover is required. This will lead to ongoing work for the future.
Firstly, a little bit about us - we run a price comparison site and are looking to improve user experience across the site.
We have three main tasks here - all must be complete by the end of August:
Task 1:
I need to know if it is possible to improve the LCP to bring it to below 3 seconds – particularly on product pages for both mobile and desktop. This one is a particularly slow loading page:
I’m inviting developers to take a look at these pages, and audit them, and return with a proposal of what they would do, along with how long this would take, and costs.
The LCP on other pages such as categories and posts are not so bad.
Our SEO agency has said that there is a very high level of fonts and colours being used in CSS so I guess bringing this down would be part of this plan.
Please provide detailed proposal of what issues you would address, the cost, and time to do this as well as any potential problems you anticipate and whether they can be overcome and how.
Our previous developer has made some custom modifications to the site so this would need to be taken into account.
Task 2:
When products are “out of stock” or there is no price available, is it possible to set a rule which can be coded whereby a pop-up or suggestion that they check out alternative stock appears?
For example, a message that says “this product is out of stock, search similar products here” and links to the relevant product category page on an affiliate site.
If this is not possible, any suggestions for improving UX in these scenarios.
At the moment, it would look at the plugin which brings in prices to identify if there is a product present and if it is out of stock.
Task 3
We add a Savvy Score (editors score) to products and wish for archive pages to default to sort by highest at the top (so people see the best rated product first)
Our previous developer says this is not possible, however, I believe it should be and would like an answer as to whether it should be achievable.
Here is an archive page where these scores are visible.
