So we have a Corona-born initiative website which is helping the vulnerable and isolated customers of the UK and it is going to be potentially receiving a lot of traffic on Tuesday as the word goes out to 500,000 email addresses. We don't know how much of these potential users we're going to receive on the website but we must prepare and I'd like to find a server expert to help us with this.
We have received the following information from our existing web maintenence guy:
Amazon RDS - 1x MySQL Master instance - MySQL Slave instance (at least one)
The platform does a lot of heavy MySQL queries toward the `searches` and `slots` tables. The MySQL Master Slave relation is needed to mitigate the load and allow the processing of more simultaneous requests.
If there is anyone that is experienced with server support, I'd love to hear from you quickly. There's a few hours work here to help us. As I say, we're a charitable organisation so we really would love to find someone to help us.
Plus, potentially maintaining our website moving forward is another project to discuss.
Thank you.
P.s. as a bonus but certainly not important for this posting, but if you know the Laravel codebase, then we have changes we need to make to the website in the new hosting environment. But as I say, this is a project we need immediate server assistance on. The Laravel experience would be just a bonus to us, that's all. But please let us know if you do!
